Big Bang Benefit for Mr. Andrew Rekdahl
Date: Saturday, Feb 12, 2011
Place: Mary Queen of Peace, 1121 228th Ave. SE,
Sammamish, Wa. 98075
Time: 6 pm - 10 pm
Cost: $10 / person $30 / family
Spaghetti dinner, live music, dancing and raffle of sports memoribilia. Bring your family and friends. Let's show our support and well wishes for Mr Rekdahl, our science teacher at Eastside Catholic High School.
Mr Science, Andrew, was diagnosed July 2010 with intestinal cancer. At the age of 28, Andrew was in the ICU at the UW Medical Hospital for 3 months. At that time, Andrew faced many challenges. In January, for his 29th birthday, Andrew had scans and bloodwork show that he is cancer free, which is a miracle and a wonderful gift from God. The Big Bang Benefit is now a celebration of Andrew's health. Friends and family of Andrew invite you to come and join in the fun.
The entertainment will include Eastside Catholic talent, the Tailenders (an "Indie" band that creates their own songs), and Stix & Stones ( a Classic Rock Dance Band). We will all be dancing, as we celebrate Andrew's health.
Included in the festivities will be sports memoribilia from the local sports teams. Jake Locker (UW Quarterback) has donated a signed football. The Cougs won't be out done, so they have a special item. There will be a Sounders Jersey up for grabs. Seahawks have made a wonderful contribution, as well. See the list below for more details.
Our Emcees for the evening will include Jason Gesser (former WSU Quarterback) , Jerry Belur (Husky Hall of Fame Track Star) and friends of Andrew.
